Scotland’s Kishorn dry-dock, last used during the building of the Skye Bridge 25 years ago, will come out of hibernation for the construction of the 50MW Kincardine floating wind power project, after a deal was inked between developer Pilot Offshore Resources and Kishorn Port.

Work on the first of the array’s eight 6MW units – using an unspecified turbine mated to a concrete-steel semi-spar foundation concept from ACS Cobra – will get underway in August at the dry-docks, creating some 200 local jobs, with installation of the first turbine offshore slated for “the second quarter of 2018”.
