India plans to auction a further 4GW of wind capacity in the financial year ending March 2018, it was reported today.

The new capacity, which follows the country’s first wind power tender earlier this year, was flagged up by the head of the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), according to Bloomberg.

The financial news agency also reported Ashvini Kumar as saying the Indian government believes 5GW-6GW can be added each fiscal year, as the country chases its target of 60GW of installed wind by 2022, roughly double what’s in place now.
