The average capacity rating of a US wind turbine installed in 2016 was 2.15MW, a marked increase from 2MW the previous year, as almost one-third of 3,808 new units nationwide were above that level, according to new data from the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA).
Over the last six years, the average wind turbine rating has increased 22% from 1.77MW
