Developer Ailes Marines has cleared key administration hurdles on its €2.5bn ($2.7bn) Bay of Saint-Brieuc project in the English Channel, moving France’s first offshore wind farm toward steel in the water.

The three authorisations, from the Prefet of the regional department of Cotes-d’Armor, which had been studying the 496MW project for 18 months, cover use of the maritime public domain, installation of offshore structures, and protection of marine habitats and creatures.
