Shell has reportedly urged the Dutch government to increase offshore wind targets and the goal for installed capacity to 20GW by 2030.

The Anglo-Dutch group is lobbying in the Netherlands on behalf of renewables aiming to give it investors “clarity”, according to Reuters, as the country currently plans to have only 4.45GW of commissioned offshore wind capacity by 2023.

"We need to lower the costs of development, but we would also want the Dutch government to come up with the policy for a further rollout of 10-15GW in capacity for the period until 2030," the newswire cited a spokeswoman for Shell as saying.
