The Senate in Oklahoma voted overwhelmingly on Monday to roll back the remaining state tax incentive for wind energy, handing the US industry a high-profile political and economic setback in its fastest-growing market.

In a 40-3 vote, the Senate approved House Bill 2298, which advances expiration of the tax credit for electricity production by three and one-half years to 1 July for “zero-emission” facilities of 1MW or greater.
