India's leading renewables developer ReNew Power Ventures has doubled its installed wind and solar capacity in the past year to reach 2GW.

The independent power producer reached the milestone after investing 67bn rupees ($1bn) over the past financial year. ReNew Power has added 430MW of solar and 626MW of wind capacity, it said.

“In April 2016, we were the first company in India to achieve 1GW of commissioned renewable energy capacity.
