Brazil expects to contract 87-131 terawatt hours (TWh) per year between 2017 and 2026, giving priority to hydro, wind and solar, according to Luiz Barroso, the president of the government energy planning authority, EPE.

It is unclear what this will translate to in terms of capacity, but Brazil’s current total installed power of 150GW — which includes 92GW of hydro, 11GW of wind and only 23MW of solar — translates into about 450TWh/year.
