Following several months of tests at prototypes, German wind turbine manufacturer Enercon has changed the classification for its low wind 4.2MW turbine to allow using it also in medium wind conditions.

Enercon’s top-of-the-range model, the E-141 EP4/4.2MW that previously had a wind class III classification is now also available for use at wind class IIA sites.

“The new classification will make it easier for our customers to plan projects at locations with good to very good wind conditions,” says sales manager Stefan Lütkemeyer.
