The final hurdle to the merger between turbine makers Gamesa and Siemens Wind Power was cleared today, after the combined company was registered in Spain.

A board meeting will be held tomorrow to decide top management posts.

Siemens will take a 59% stake in the new wind OEM — which will have a presence in more than 90 countries and an installed base of 75GW — but the company will be headquartered at Gamesa's offices in Zamudio, northern Spain, and continue trading on the Madrid stock market.
