Foresight Group, Europe’s second-largest owner of solar projects, is due to sign off on its first wind and storage projects in the coming weeks — the initial steps in its plan to become a market leader in both sectors, Recharge has learned.

The ambitious London-based investment manager — which owns 900MW of solar and 130MW of energy-from-waste projects in the UK, US, Italy, Spain and Australia — is also examining opportunities in offshore wind, transmission and tidal projects, as well as selling solar or wind power directly to corporate customers, according to partner Dan Wells.
