The renewables industry is attracting a younger generation of jobseekers than other energy sectors but potential skills gaps lie ahead, say recruitment agencies.

A survey from energy recruitment firms Airswift and Energy Jobline showed that more than 8.1 million people are employed in renewables worldwide, a 5% year-on-year increase.

The first Global Energy Talent Index (GETI) report revealed that this workforce is slightly younger than oil and gas or nuclear, with the most represented age group in the survey 35 to 44 year olds (31%), closely followed by 25 to 34 (29%).
