DNV GL has launched a new joint industry project to help improve offshore wind logistics as the industry continues to increase the size and quantities of wind turbines installed offshore.

The project is intended to improve standardisation of wind project cargo for storage, transportation and installation, reducing construction programme durations and creating savings.

To achieve this goal, DNV GL developed a “recommended practice” called “Twisties” - a modular project-cargo transport frame system that is sea-fastened using container twist locks, it said.
