Offshore wind turbine maker Adwen this week asked French authorities for a permit to build a nacelle and rotor blade factory with a 500MW per year capacity each in the northern French harbour of Le Havre, a company spokesman told Recharge.
The plants would produce Adwen’s flagship AD8-180 8MW offshore turbine that is currently being tested by German wind research institute Fraunhofer IWES in the port of Bremerhaven.
