US transmission developer Clean Line Energy Partners expects to learn in May whether it will be able to string its 4GW Grain Belt Express transmission project across Missouri, telling Recharge that an approval would allow the mega-link to be finished in time to accommodate wind farms eligible for the production tax credit.
Grain Belt, which would connect wind farms in western Kansas to the Illinois/Indiana border and the vast PJM wholesale electricity market in the eastern US, is the second most advanced project in Clean Line’s development portfolio.
