Navantia has cut first steel at its Puerto Real yard in Spain for the substation jacket for developer Iberdrola’s €3bn ($3.23bn) East Anglia (EA) 1 wind farm off Britain. 

The €65m contract encompasses the steelwork for the substation as well as 42 steel jacket foundation for the 714MW project’s 102 turbines.
