France will next month start a “competitive dialogue” over its Oléron offshore wind zone, energy minister Ségolène Royal said.
The announcement confirms the next stage in French government plans to expand its burgeoning offshore wind tendering programme. The dialogue phase sees developers express their interest and the government run the rule over their capabilities.
Oléron is expected to offer the chance for up to 500MW of capacity off the country’s western Atlantic coast.
