GE has got the green light from EU competition authorities for its $1.65bn takeover of turbine blade specialist LM Wind Power.

The European Commission waved the deal through unconditionally, saying that the “merged entity would continue to face effective competition in Europe”.

The planned acquisition – announced in October 2016 – prompted questions over the long-term status of LM as a supplier to third-party OEMs once it joined the US industrial giant.
