The Argentine government said it will monitor closely the construction of the 59 renewable energy projects contracted in Rounds 1 and 1.5 of its 10GW RenovAr renewable energy programme, but has still not set a date for a new tender this year or for publication of long-awaited rules for the non-regulated market.

“It doesn’t mean that we will wait for the construction of the projects contracted in the first tenders to hold Round 2, but we’re analysing closely the projects in order to see when we can announce Round 2,” said renewable energy sub-secretary Sebastián Kind during a meeting with 180 investors in Buenos Aires on 13 March.
