The European Commission’s anti-trust body has unconditionally approved the merger between Siemens Wind and Spanish wind turbine maker Gamesa that will create one of the biggest turbine manufacturers in the world, leaving the deal on track for completion in early April.
A statement from the EU Competition Commission said the deal "raises no competition concerns, because a number of credible competitors would remain in the market" and did not attach any special conditions to the merger.
