Transmission system operators TenneT in Germany and the Netherlands, and its Danish peer Energinet.dk will sign an agreement in Brussels on 23 March to press ahead on developing a North Sea grid system – including artificial islands to which 70-100GW of offshore power could be linked.

The companies are in ongoing discussions with other TSOs and infrastructure companies as other potential partners for a consortium to build the so-called North Sea Wind Power Hub project, aiming to help make the energy transition feasible and affordable.
