The final turbine has been installed at Kenya's landmark Ksh70bn ($700m) Lake Turkana wind farm – Africa's largest wind project – by contractor-OEM Vestas, with expectations that the 310MW development will start flowing into the East African nation's grid in June.

Power from the Lake Turkana wind farm, located in the northeast of the country near the lake of the same name, will supply power to one million homes and electrify many off-grid rural areas for the first time.
