Developer Equis has hired Siemens to build and equip one of Indonesia’s first wind farms, after switching to the German group from earlier frontrunner Vestas.

A consortium of Siemens and local construction group PT PP will deliver the Tolo I Wind Farm in Jeneponto, South Sulawesi, using the German OEM’s turbines, Equis said in a statement.

The deal is a departure from a September 2016 announcement that lined up Vestas as conditional EPC contractor to the 60MW project, which has signed an offtake agreement with state utility PT PLN.
