Canada’s Enbridge says it hopes to make a final investment decision (FID) this year for some of the French offshore capacity it's developing with EDF, suggesting the start of construction of France’s first commercial offshore wind farms could slip into 2018.

When Enbridge last year acquired a 50% stake in the EDF-backed development company behind the 1.4GW trio of French offshore projects, the Calgary-based energy giant said construction was expected to “start gradually” from 2017.
