Siemens last week won a deal to equip the giant €1.8bn ($1.9bn) 497MW Hohe See wind farm in the German North Sea.

While a massive deal for any turbine manufacturer, it was also a first for the German group as it marked the debut of its new "extended scope" wind solutions contracts.

As well as 71 SWT-7.0-154 turbines, Siemens will provide project-tailored monopile foundations as part of an end-to-end approach that will also see it provide maintenance services for at least five years.
