A ‘big four’ of OEMs is set to break away from the pack in the global onshore wind market, predicted analyst Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF) as it confirmed Denmark’s Vestas as the runaway installations champion in 2016.

BNEF said last year’s top three of Vestas, GE and Goldwind will be joined by the combined might of Siemens Wind and Gamesa to create a leading group with clear daylight between it and other contenders, such as Germany’s Enercon and Nordex, and China’s Ming Yang and Envision.

The
