Avangrid, the US utility group controlled by Spain’s Iberdrola, plans to build at least another 1.8GW of renewables capacity by the end of 2020, taking advantage of the wind turbines it qualified for the production tax credit (PTC) in 2016.

That is 600MW more capacity than Avangrid forecast last year for the 2017-20 period. The company has about 5.9GW of operating renewables capacity today.
