Italian cabling giant Prysmian has landed the €300m-plus ($316m+) contract from France's Réseau de Transport d'Électricité (RTE) for the high-voltage (HV) submarine power lines linking the Fécamp, Calvados and Saint-Nazaire offshore wind farms in the Atlantic Ocean to the country's mainland grid.

Connection of the three projects, which will have a total output of some 500MW, will represent the first-ever grid access developed by RTE to transmit electricity generated by offshore wind farms to supply French households.
