Swedish floating wind power developer Hexicon's 10MW twin-turbine Dounreay Trì demonstrator off Scotland has been rubber-stamped by the Highland Council, moving the innovative project a step closer to a hoped-for final investment decision in April.
If approved by the Scottish government, the pilot project, which would be sited in 60-110 metres of water 6km out to sea from the Dounreay nuclear power complex, would have a clear run at installation next year and commissioning in 2018.
