GE has clinched a 205MW turbine supply agreement in Brazil in a contract that will help the US OEM through a “difficult period” in the country’s wind market.

GE Renewable Energy will deliver 82 of its GE 2.5-116 machines to a project underway by local developer CER in the state of Bahia.

Regional general manager for Latin America at GE Renewable Energy, Jean-Claude Robert, was quoted by Reuters hailing the deal as “an important contract [that] gave us some relief”.
