Vestas was 2016’s number one wind OEM followed by GE, with Siemens dropping out of the top five altogether, according to preliminary data from industry analysts at FTI Consulting.
Vestas' stellar performance in the US last year propelled it top spot in FTI’s league table, up from second place in 2015.
GE also rose one place on its year-earlier ranking, while Goldwind – market leader in 2015 by FTI Consulting’s reckoning – fell to third in 2016 on the back of lower installations in China.
