The head of Vattenfall’s wind business area Gunnar Groebler said the company was “hurt” by its failure to win the last Dutch offshore tender, and vowed the Swedish group’s costs reduction efforts will continue as it competes for further projects.

Vattenfall had a "really successful 2016" he said, as the company set a new low-price record for offshore wind. However, while it won two Danish projects in the past 12 months, it also lost out on the Dutch Borssele 3-4 development, which went to oil and gas player Shell.
