ScottishPower Renewables, a unit of Spanish energy giant Iberdrola, has hired Aberdeen-based Sparrows Group to supply cranes for installation at the 714MW East Anglia 1 wind farm, off Eastern England.
Under the deal, with an undisclosed value, Sparrows will supply 103 cranes for installation at the massive development, which is anticipated to be fully-operational by 2020.
All the offshore wind turbine cranes will be designed and manufactured at Sparrows facilities in Aberdeen for Granada Material Handling on behalf of ScottishPower.
