German onshore wind net capacity additions rose to a very strong 4.26GW last year as developers rushed to get construction permits before the end of the year, allowing them to still be entitled for support via a regular feed-in tariff ahead of a change to a tender-based system starting in 2017.

That was up from 3.54GW in net additions a year earlier, and brought the country’s cumulated onshore wind power generation capacity to 45.91GW,
