Canada’s Brookfield Renewable Partners (BEP), among the world’s largest pure-play renewables businesses, expects to finalise a deal with SunEdison’s yieldcos within the next few weeks, and has revealed a sizeable push into US solar development.
Last week TerraForm Power and sister yieldco TerraForm Global announced they had entered exclusivity agreements with Brookfield Asset Management, BEP’s parent, giving the Toronto-based investment group several weeks to negotiate exclusively to buy the yieldcos or strike a deal to become their new sponsor company.
