On the background of soaring profits from offshore wind and an expanding market also outside Europe, Dong Energy has greatly widened its target for stakes in installed offshore wind capacity to 11-12GW by 2025.
The new target comes on top of the already known 6.5GW 2020 installation target, which the Danish utility now says it will likely exceed.
The targets are for operational offshore capacity, which was built by Dong alone or together with other developers; Dong won't necessarily still own 100% in those assets due to its policy of starting the development of new offshore projects alone and then selling off large chunks of it.
