The French government expects to hold a first onshore wind tender in November as part of a three-year programme in which a combined 3GW of onshore power are slated to be auctioned off.

Environment minister Ségolène Royal in a release said she has informed French energy regulator CRE and the European Commission of draft specifications for the tender.

Only one auction is planned for 2017, followed by two auctions per year in 2018 and 2019.
