BCPG – the renewables arm of Thai oil group Bangchak Petroleum – is entering the wind power business with the purchase of a 40% stake in Philippines developer PetroWind Energy (PWEI).
The deal, which is due to close in the current quarter, marks the first foray beyond solar for BCPG, which said it plans to work further with PWEI's other investors to “develop renewable power plants in the Southeast Asia region”.
