China installed 19.3GW of wind in 2016 but the country's sector also saw a sharp spike in curtailment, according to latest government figures.

The country’s cumulative installed wind capacity currently stood at roughly 149GW by 31 December, according to the National Energy Administration (NEA). 

However, roughly 49.7TWh of wind power was curtailed from the national grid last year, up sharply from roughly 33.9TWh
