Danish wind major Dong Energy has signed a deal to take on an ownership stake in Taiwan’s Formosa 1 project from local developer Swancor Renewable, underscoring its growing ambitions in the Southeast Asian country’s offshore market.

Upon completion of the buy-in, the terms of which were not disclosed, Dong will own a 35% slice of the 128MW development, located in 16 metres of water in the Changhua area of the Taiwan Strait, with Macquarie Capital holding 50%, and Swancor Industries 15%.
