Indonesia will join the utility-scale wind era by the end of 2017 when the 75MW Sidrap development starts operation in the country, according to Philippines conglomerate Ayala, which is investing in the project.

Ayala unit AC Energy said an investment agreement with developer UPC Renewables will see Sidrap become the country’s first operational large-scale wind farm when it enters service in South Sulawesi by the end of this year.
