Chile expects to install 1.5GW of renewable capacity in 2017, keeping a similar pace of growth to 2016 even though the sector faces transmission challenges.
The forecast was made by Carlos Finat, executive director of the Chilean Renewable Energy Association (ACERA).
Maintaining this rhythm, Chile could top 30% renewable power supply by 2030 and reach 100% by 2050, ACERA said in a statement.
