Vattenfall eyes 340MW extension at UK's Thanet offshore

Vattenfall has started local consultations over an up to 340MW extension to its 300MW Thanet Offshore Wind Farm off the coast of southeast England.

A scoping report prepared by the developer envisages deploying up to 34 turbines of between 8MW and 10MW at the site off Kent.

Recharge first revealed in June last year that the Swedish group was looking again at a possible extension, after stepping back from the project in 2010 citing concerns over grid access.
