Brazilian wind developer Casa dos Ventos has secured a R$1bn ($306m) loan from the country’s National Development Bank (BNDES) for its 357.9MW Ventos do Araripe 3 wind complex.
The loan is among the largest the bank has ever granted to a wind project. BNDES is the main financing agent for the Brazilian renewables sector, having allocated $25bn to fund about 60% of the country’s 11GW of installed wind capacity.
