Southern Power has acquired two Texas wind farms totaling 300MW from EDF Renewable Energy, as the competitive generation unit of US utility giant Southern Company continues its aggressive accumulation of large wind and solar projects.
Southern Power will buy the 174MW Salt Fork and 126MW Tyler Bluff projects, both of them recently brought into full commercial operation – and both holders of long-term PPAs with high-profile US corporations.
