Vestas has received its first turbine order in the US to repower an existing wind farm, underscoring a potentially big new market for turbine suppliers.
Given the relative youth of the 76GW US wind fleet and the abundance of good sites for new wind farms, repowering remains a tiny fraction of the overall US wind market.
But Vestas says it has scored its first repowering order in the US market – for 29MW of its V110-2.0MW
