Vestas bagged its largest UK onshore wind order to date as utility SSE ordered 66 turbines for its 228MW Stronelairg wind farm in Scotland.
Located in the Monadhliath mountains, south of Loch Ness at a site close to SSE’s operational 100MW Glendoe hydro project, the order for Stronelairg consists of 53 V117-3.45MW and 13 V112-3.45MW turbines. The tip heights will be 135 metres and 125 metres, respectively.
