Dong Energy has made a “multi-million pound” investment in the offshore wind tower manufacturing plant being built in Scotland by Korea’s CS Wind.

The factory in Campbeltown will be the first UK facility to make offshore turbine towers, with Dong gaining “preferred access rights” to its output as a result of its investment, said a statement.

Dong is the main driver of UK offshore development, with projects on its book including the 660MW Walney Extension and 1.2GW
