Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) has unveiled its proposed wind power feed-in tariff (FIT) rates for the next three years.

The FITs, which are subject to further deliberation, were presented by the ministry earlier this week, said the Japan Wind Power Association.

The draft rates will form the baseline for the final tariffs, it added.

Wind installations above 20kW move from a 2016 rate of ¥22/kWh ($0.186/kWh)
