Vestas has won a 270MW contract in Australia, its second major deal in the country’s wind market within a few weeks.

The Danish group will supply 75 V126 turbines, power optimised from 3.45MW to 3.6MW, to the  Sapphire Wind Farm under an EPC deal with balance-of-plant partner Zenviron. The deal also includes a 10-year service contract.

Sapphire is being developed by Australian group CWP Renewables at a site near Glen Innes in the state of New South Wales.
